Monali C. Patel, MD

Dr. Monali Patel was named a “2018 — Top Doctor” in the annual San Diego Magazine “Physicians of Exceptional Excellence” survey.

Monali Patel, M.D. is a Neurologist with a special interest in otoneurology, gait and balance dysfunction, and headache disorders. She is dedicated to being at the forefront of technology, understanding the latest advancements in neurologic diseases, and keeping a patient centered approach with exceptional care.

A native of Chicago, Dr. Patel has received many honors and distinctions. She graduated with high honors and on the Dean’s List from the Illinois Institute of Technology, where she received her undergraduate degree in Molecular Biochemistry and Biophysics and graduated from the Honors Program in Engineering & Medicine. She obtained her medical degree from the Chicago Medical School, and was selected as the Student Dean.

Dr. Patel completed her internship in Internal Medicine at Temple University in Philadelphia, and was recognized amongst the top of her class as a “Resident of the Year.” She completed her residency training in Neurology at Temple University Hospital, where she served as Chief Resident. She has an interest in teaching, and has been invited to lecture to resident & student groups.

Dr. Patel is committed to understanding the latest research in Neurology. Her past research endeavors and presentations include ‘The Effectiveness of Education Intervention on Health Knowledge among Neurological Patients’; ‘Prevalence of vascular dementia and Alzheimer’s dementia in an urban setting’; ‘Neuromyelitis Optica: Beyond the Spectrum of Classic Localization’; ‘North Philadelphia “Threepeaters” Risk factors for recurrent emergency room use by people with epilepsy’; and ‘CNS Vasculitis – involvement of the corpus callosum’.

Her goal is to continue rising to the challenges of an ever changing healthcare system as the spectrum of modern medicine neurology has and will occupy a place of prominence.
