The Beach Boys: Sixty Years of the Sounds of Summer
When: August 6, 7:30pm
Where: The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park, 222 Marina Park Way, San Diego
Cost: $70-$95
The Beach Boys joins the San Diego Symphony Orchestra for a celebration of their 60-year career. With their catchy songs and a beautiful venue, this concert will be the definition of summertime fun!
Calienté! A Latin Music and Food Festival Experience!
When: August 6, 1-6pm
Where: Broadway Pier, 1000 N Embarcadero, San Diego, CA 92101
Cost: $45-$65
Seniors who enjoy dancing and Latin-inspired food will enjoy this festival. The festival features djs, bands, food, drinks and Banda, Mariachi, Bachata, Merengue, Salsa music—perfect for an afternoon of dancing near the water.
San Diego Soul Food Fest
When: August 6, 11am-3pm
Where: 4090 University Avenue, San Diego, CA 92105
Cost: $5-$15 admission
Feast on delicious soul food from across the diaspora. General admission tickets includes entertainment and access to food vendors, while tasting tickets gets you three tastings from your choice of vendors.
Pupologie Cardiff Dog Days of Summer
When: August 14, 10am-5pm
Where: Encinitas Community Park, 425 Santa Fe Drive, Encinitas, CA 92024
Cost: Free
This free event for dog lovers features vendors selling a variety of pet-related goods, food, drinks, photo ops, and of course, adorable dogs! There will also be contests, live music, and rescue groups and adoption agencies if you’re looking to take home a furry friend of your own.
San Diego Psychic and Healing Arts Fair
When: August 14, 11am-7pm

The San Diego Union-Tribune’s 6th Annual Festival of Books

The Festival of Books is fun for book lovers of all ages. Meet authors, enjoy live entertainment, workshops, photo booths, and more.
Recycle for Veterans – San Diego River Cleanup
When: August 27, 9am-12pm
Where: San Diego River – exact location announced 48 hours before the event
Cost: Free
Get some fresh air while helping to clean up around the river. The group will provide bags, gloves, buckets, grabbers, and hand sanitizer. Volunteers will gather debris, then sort and separate recyclable items.
Sunday Summer Concerts
When: August 21, 3-5pm
Where: Moonlight Beach, 400 B Street, Encinitas
Cost: Free
Watch a free concert with your toes in the sand and the ocean breeze on your skin! Bring blankets, a picnic, and get ready to dance on the beach as the Rayford Bros perform rockabilly and 1950’s tunes, all for free.
