National Green Juice Day: 8 Homemade Green Juices

Seriously, could there be a healthier “holiday” than National Green Juice Day? Load up on antioxidants, vitamins and minerals by taking part in this celebratory drink fest – trust us, your body will thank you.

Skip the expensive juices at stores or restaurants. If you have a juicer at home or if you have a family member with a juicer, you can make these delectable, fresh juices at home. (If you don’t have a juicer, the first and last juices listed below don’t require a juicer!) Check out eight of our favorite, homemade green juice recipes:

1. The Green Juice/Soup

This particular green juice recipe has so many benefits: it surprisingly provides a lot of protein, it’s detoxifying, you can drink it warm (because hey, it is winter) and the recipe doesn’t require a juicer, just a blender.

2. Rockhouse Greens

This recipe is one of the most popular drinks served at Rockhouse resort in Jamaica. Combine kale, cucumber, pineapple, ginger, and lime and you can feel like you are living well at an ocean-side resort!

3. Freshen Up Juice

Healthy juices can be super delicious, and this electrolyte-packed recipe proves it. With only five ingredients, including aloe vera, honeydew and mint, this juice will please your body and palate.

4. SupaDupa Greens Juice

Enjoy a refreshing, uplifting drink that’s heavy on vegetables and light on fruit. If you really like your greens, then this is a great juice for you to gulp down.

5. Daily Green’s Juice

The green juice ingredients required for this one are very simple: lettuce, celery, cilantro, and parsley are blended together to make one powerhouse of a drink.

6. Delicious Soothing Morning Juice

With only four ingredients, this is a very easy juice to make. Another advantage is that it doesn’t taste like leafy greens, if you’re not too into that. This juice has cucumbers, apples, lemon (yep, just one), and raw honey or fresh ginger.

8. Glow Juice

This unique recipe calls for some delicious ingredients, beloved by people who don’t favor the traditional leafy, green juices. It’s full of vitamins and antioxidants that will help several parts of your body, from your skin to your circulatory system to your stomach. The cucumbers, mint, basil and grapefruit inside this juice will help your skin glow!

Consuming fresh juices or smoothies offers exceptional nutritional benefits. For more health-related food tips and recipes, check out Scripps Affiliated Medical Groups’ articles.
