Dr. Thomas Harris received his medical degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston. He completed his surgical internship at the University of Texas and served as a medical officer and orthopedic resident in the U.S. Navy. It was also at the University of Texas Medical Branch that he completed residencies in Adult Orthopaedics and Hand Surgery. Dr. Harris also finished his fellowship in Sports Medicine Training at the Southern California Sports Medicine and Otherpaedic Group.
Dr. Harris is the first surgeon in San Diego to offer anthroscopic microdiscectomy. He has spend a great amount of time working with collegiate and professional athletes, as an orthopedic consultant and team physician. Dr. Harris’ work has been published in several local and national publications. He is the author of four books, including The Sports Medicine Guide for the Everyday Athlete, Power Baseball, Play Ball, and The Skier’s Sports Medicine Guide.
