Steven M. Fish, MD

Dr. Steven Fish is a fellowship-trained cataract and glaucoma surgeon and CEO of Coastal Cataract & Glaucoma in Vista, California. A highly experienced cataract surgeon with thousands of procedures performed, Dr. Fish is known for taking on complex and high-risk cases — including dense cataracts, small pupils, weak zonules, pseudoexfoliation, and mature/white cataracts — that are often referred out by general ophthalmologists. He also offers the full range of glaucoma care, including MIGS as well as incisional procedures such as tube shunts, XEN gel stents, and cyclophotocoagulation. Beyond surgery, Dr. Fish provides comprehensive medical eye care, including dry eye management, with a focus on personalized treatment plans that match each patient’s goals and lifestyle. Dr. Fish is proficient in medical Spanish and welcomes patients of all backgrounds. He lives in Encinitas with his wife, Madison, an OB/GYN, and their three children.

Dr. Fish earned his medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and completed his ophthalmology residency at West Virginia University, followed by a glaucoma fellowship with Acuity Eye Group in Pasadena, California. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
