Spencer T. Hoostal, MD

Dr. Spencer Hoostal joined the Hillcrest Internal Medicine Team in July 2024. He is originally from Minnesota and he double majored in Biology and English Literature at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. During his college education he realized medicine was the right career for him as it combined his love of science and the humanities. He went to medical school at the University of Minnesota Medical School. He completed his residency training in Internal Medicine at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego. During his residency he studied Lifestyle Medicine and has an interest in how lifestyle factors such as diet, exercise, and sleep can help prevent and treat chronic illness. He chose a career in primary care because he enjoys getting to know his patients over the course of their lives. He also enjoys discussing a healthy lifestyle with his patients. In his free time he enjoys surfing, hiking, podcasts, and spending time with his fiancée.
