Shervin Alborzian, MD

Dr. Shervin Alborzian was raised in San Diego, CA received his BS in Neuroscience from the University of California at Los Angeles. He moved to the East Coast to further his education and obtained his medical doctorate from Boston University School of Medicine. After years of pursuing higher education outside of San Diego, Dr. Alborzian returned in 2011 to take over the Eye Center of La Jolla from Dr. Forrest Murphy. Dr. Alborzian was hand selected by Dr. Forrest Murphy to provide the best ophthalmology care to the city of San Diego. He is an American Board of Ophthalmology Certified Surgeon and Medical Doctor.

Prior to his private practice Dr. Alborzian worked for Kaiser Permanente in Northern California and in Washington D.C. He specializes in comprehensive ophthalmology and is a certified topical anesthesia cataract surgeon. He is board certified to treat various illnesses of the eyes as well as being a laser specialist.

Dr. Alborzia’s affiliations include being an active staff surgeon at Scripps Memorial Hospital-La Jolla. He is also an active member of the American Board of Ophthalmology, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive surgeons as well as the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
