Dr. Sherry Kinnaird is a double board-certified, Harvard-trained interventional pain management physician and anesthesiologist. She focuses on spine and joint pain.  She embraces her patients’ broad range of medical issues and is committed to ensuring each patient receives customized treatment focusing on none-opioid, interventional and multimodal approach.

 

Approach

Dr. Kinnaird specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of conditions, including but not limited to: headache/migraine pain, knee/hip/shoulder/joint pain, neck/back/spine pain, failed back surgery syndrome, female abdominal and pelvic pain, and complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS)

She uses a multi-modal approach to treating pain which includes non-surgical interventional treatment, physical therapy, and rehabilitation.  She performs epidurals, facet joint injections, medial branch blocks and radiofrequency ablations in the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine, joint pain management for shoulders, hips, knees, and sacroiliac joints, as well female pelvic pain management with pudental nerve and ganglion impar blocks. She is trained in advanced spine therapies including spinal cord stimulation, neurolytic blocks, and sympathetic blocks.

 

Background

Dr. Kinnaird obtained both her bachelor’s degree in biomedical science and master’s degree in healthcare administration at the University of Michigan.  Dr. Kinnaird graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine before completing her anesthesiology residency at Harvard Medical School’s Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

Following residency, Dr. Kinnaird completed fellowship in interventional pain medicine also at Harvard’s Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, which is ranked as the #1 pain medicine fellowship by the American Association of Pain Medicine.
